Spalding: Phonograms to review: All learned so far

Phonograms being introduced: au/aw, ew

Phonograms tested: m, a, u, n, h, l, s, e, i, k, wor, ear, sh, ee, th      

Spelling Words tested: can, see, the, run, in

Reading:  

We will continue writing words into our Spalding notebooks for future reading and spelling words.  We are reading picture books, deciding if the story is a narrative or informative or informative narrative.  We are also answering comprehension questions about the story as we read.  We will be reviewing our words on flashcards and creating sentences using these words.  We will then read, write and illustrate our sentences!!  We will be phonetically spelling our words on the back of the WPR page, they may not be spelled correctly.  However, they will be spelled phonetically as the students use their phonological knowledge with guidance.

Handwriting: Write a,c,d,f,g,o,s,qu,b correctly starting at 2 o’clock.  We will continue to work on writing e,h,i,j,k,l,m,n,p,r,t,u,v,w,x,y,z,

er’s, sh, ee, th, ai, ay, ow, ou, oi, oy  staying between the lines.

Language Arts:

Tying Shoes Poem Due 2/23/23.

Math: completing patterns; directional words on, off, up, down, left, right, top, bottom, middle, counting by 1’s, 10’s and 5’s; shorter / longer, measuring capacity, Addition continue to work on adding 0, 1; introduction adding 2. 

 

Science / Social Studies: Measuring using standard and non standard units of measure; Maps
