Two Hour Delay Information:
Please do not arrive before 9:15
- No students are to be on campus prior to 9:15 am.
- All grades will start exactly two hours late.
- No breakfast will be served.
- The rest of the school day will proceed as usual.
Dear parents, if you do not feel safe bringing your child to school during any rough weather days then please feel free to call us and ask for an excused absense! Stay safe!
Snow Day Information
Franklin School will not be in session when either Prescott or Humboldt Districts call a snow day.
We will always follow the schedule of the district that has the most severe weather. See the DO list below.
If a snow day is called during the school day:
Franklin School will notify all parents by phone and post on Facebook if a decision has been made to close or shorten the school day. Please be sure the school has your current phone numbers. If you feel that the weather is getting bad and you would like to pick up your children early then please do! We want all of our Franklin families to stay safe during stormy weather!
What to do during a severe weather delay
DO:
- Check our home page for the most current updates.
- Listen to the local radio stations for school closing or a shortened day schedule announcement (stations listed below). The stations will know about a delay or cancellation by 6am.
- Dress your children appropriately for the weather.
- Instruct your children to be especially careful when walking or driving because of the increased danger of slippery roads.
DO NOT:
- Do not bring your children to school early on the shortened day schedule.
- Do not feel pressured to bring your children to school if you feel unsafe leaving your home. We understand that our families have varying conditions at their home and things such as icy driveways, uncleared roads, and fear of driving over black ice are acceptable reasons to call us and ask for your children to be excused. STAY SAFE!
Be assured that any decision to close school or delay school is carefully considered and made only after evaluating all available up-to-date information and reports. Your cooperation with these plans will be greatly appreciated.
Please be aware that the District boundaries include varying terrain and elevations that will affect the decision to delay or cancel school.
