Franklin Families,
This message is to inform you that for the remainder of this week we will continue to provide in person learning for Kindergarten-5th grade students. However, in an effort to keep our students and staff members safe and healthy after Christmas break Franklin students will not return to campus until Tuesday, January 19th, 2021 due to the high number of Covid19 cases in Yavapai County. During the two weeks that students will remain at home all students will be provided with packets that will review concepts learned during the first semester. Jr. High students that are currently using powerhomeschool will need to email Ms. Fitch to re-enroll. Any Jr. High students wanting to go completely to our online program, will also need to contact Ms. Fitch.
Beginning Monday, January 4th parents may pick up the reviews packets in the junior high office each week. Staff members will be available to assist students in each grade level during onsite learning. If you need to request onsite support services during our two-week closure please go to www. franklinphoneticschool.com

8/12/2020 Update
The Franklin Phonetic School board members had a board meeting yesterday where it was determined that Franklin School will not open up the campus for in person traditional learning on Monday, August 17 based upon the Yavapai County guidelines for reopening schools. Franklin School's number one priority is to keep our students and staff safe and healthy. The board members will continue to monitor the health department metric to see if their campus could maybe reopen for in person learning for all students after September 7th. In the meantime, Franklin School will offer an onsite learning center at the campus for special needs students, ELL students, and students who do not have computer access at home. Specific information regarding onsite learning will be available later this week. Online learning will continue for all other students at this time. Again, Franklin school is not opening up on Monday, August 17th. If you need any additional information please call the school at 928-775-6747. We appreciate your support as we navigate these difficult times.

Dear Franklin Families:
It’s almost time to start our 2020-2021 school year! Enclosed you will find a calendar, classroom supply lists, and a copy of the dress code out of our Student Handbook to help with your clothes shopping. Teachers have updated the classroom supply lists, so please look at them closely. If you experience any difficulties locating any of the supplies, please do not worry about it as we will provide any supplies that cannot be located. Students will not be sharing supplies during this school year due to the pandemic. Please hold on to your child’s supplies until we are permitted to return to school on campus with students. Once it is verified that we can return to campus then we will make arrangements to drop off your child’s school supplies.
Teachers will be contacting parents via phone call during the week of July 20th to set up meet the teacher appointments for either virtual or in person meetings for the week of July 27th. During your appointment time you will be able to pick up classroom materials for virtual learning. Franklin School will have a limited number of laptops that parents can borrow and will be responsible for during meet the teacher appointments. However, laptops will be available on a first come basis and only one per household will be available for checkout. If you choose to have a virtual meeting, materials will be emailed and/or your child’s teacher will make arrangements to have you pick up classroom materials at the drop off and pick up location located on the Copperhill side of the school.
